The exhibition is held under the auspices of:
the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan,
the State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources of Turkmenistan,
the Turkmenneft State Concern,
the Turkmengeologiya State Corporation,
the Turkmenneftegazstroy State Concern,
the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.


The principal mineral wealth of Turkmenistan is natural gas.
According to official figures, the economic growth rate of GDP scored:
16 % in 1999, 18 % in 2000, 20 % in 2001 and 2002, 17 % in 2003, and 21 % in 2004
Oil and gas production and export. For energy supplies, the use is made of various transportation modes the main of which is the Central Asia — Center gas pipeline built during the Soviet period. In different development phases are projects of construction of gas pipelines to Afghanistan, China, India and other Asian countries. For gas transportation to Europe round about Russia, the Nabucco gas main is projected.
The key spheres of national economy are: light industry,
primarily textile industry, agricultural sector.
Foreign trade — export: the focal point is gas, crude oil and petroleum products,
as well as electric power, cotton goods, carpets and carpet articles; export has reached
nearly 4.4 billion.
Foreign trade — import: machinery and equipment (for the oil and gas industry), coal, chemicals,
pharmaceuticals and other; import was at the level of USD 2.4 billion.
More and more foreign companies take part in large-scale projects for
development of hydrocarbon resources of Turkmenistan. Leading world news agencies report about successes in the fuel and energy complex of the country according to the research findings of the American geological and geophysical service.
The updated rating published by the American geological and geophysical service places
Turkmenistan on the tenth place with respect to oil and gas reserves, which was formerly occupied by Kazakstan.
